About The Job

We're seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join our analytics team and support client projects involving data analysis, visualisation, and business intelligence. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to develop expertise in data analytics whilst working on diverse, real-world business challenges. You'll work closely with senior data scientists and analysts, contributing to projects that help clients understand their business performance and identify growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

Data Management & Preparation

  • Perform data cleaning, pre-processing, and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis
  • Conduct data manipulation tasks including merging, filtering, sorting, and reshaping datasets
  • Handle missing data, outliers, and data quality issues using appropriate statistical methods
  • Standardise and normalise data from multiple sources and formats (CSV, Excel, databases, APIs)
  • Create and maintain clean, analysis-ready datasets with proper documentation

 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights in client datasets
  • Perform statistical analysis including descriptive statistics, trend analysis, and basic modelling
  • Create comprehensive reports and presentations summarising key findings and recommendations
  • Assist with data validation and accuracy checks across multiple data sources
  • Develop automated analysis workflows to improve efficiency and reproducibility

 

Data Visualisation & Dashboards

  • Create clear, compelling visualisations using modern BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Python, R)
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reporting solutions for client stakeholders
  • Design charts, graphs, and infographics that effectively communicate complex data insights
  • Support the maintenance and updating of existing dashboard solutions
  • Ensure visualisations follow best practices for clarity and impact

 

Business Intelligence Support

  • Assist with KPI monitoring and performance tracking across client organisations
  • Support the development of automated reporting systems and alert mechanisms
  • Help create self-service analytics platforms for client teams
  • Contribute to data architecture planning and database design discussions
  • Assist with data integration projects from multiple business systems

 

Client Project Support

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations under senior supervision
  • Assist in new client outreach, including cold messaging and supervised client pitching
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables including reports, visualisations, and executive summaries
  • Assist with data collection planning and requirements gathering
  • Contribute to proposal writing and project scoping activities

 

Technical Development

  • Develop proficiency in statistical software and programming languages
  • Learn and apply advanced analytical techniques as projects require
  • Stay current with industry trends in data analytics and business intelligence
  • Participate in internal training sessions and skill development programmes
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base and documentation

Who You Are

Education & Academic Background

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Psychology (with quantitative focus), or related discipline
  • Strong academic performance with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid foundation in statistics including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and correlation analysis
  • Coursework in data analysis or research methods with hands-on project experience

 

Technical Skills

  • Programming: Proficiency in at least one of: Python (pandas, matplotlib, numpy), R, or SQL
  • Statistical Analysis: Understanding of descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and regression analysis
  • Data Visualisation: Experience with Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or programming-based visualisation tools
  • Database Skills: Basic SQL knowledge for data extraction, filtering, and manipulation
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency including Word, Outlook, Excel

 

Analytical & Research Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and logical reasoning
  • Experience with data collection, survey design, or research projects (academic or professional)
  • Understanding of data quality issues and methods for data validation
  • Ability to interpret statistical results and identify meaningful patterns in data
  • Basic understanding of research methodology and statistical significance

 

Communication & Soft Skills

  • Written Communication: Ability to write clear, concise reports and documentation
  • Verbal Communication: Comfortable presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable Qualifications (Optional)

  • Dissertation or capstone project involving significant data analysis or statistical modelling
  • Version Control: Knowledge of Git/GitHub for collaborative projects and code management
  • Causal inference concepts such as understanding correlation vs. causation and confounding variables, difference in differences, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity design etc.
